"In the 1980s, Berlin, a young East German man, Martin, is arrested for trying to escape to the West. Sentenced to life in prison, he spends years in the notorious Stasi prison, Hohenschönhausen. Meanwhile, his girlfriend, Katrin, waits for him in the West, hoping for his release. When Martin finally escapes, he must navigate a changed world and find Katrin, while evading the Stasi agents still pursuing him."
