**Synopsis:** The "1990 CCTV Spring Festival Gala" (also known as the "1990 CCTV Lunar New Year Eve's Gala" or "1990 CCTV Spring Festival Evening") was a variety arts show produced and broadcast by China Central Television (CCTV). It was the 8th edition of CCTV's annual Spring Festival Gala, directed by Huang Yihe and hosted by Zhao Zhongxiang. The gala was divided into three teams: the Song and Dance Team, the Drama Team, and the Comic Arts Team. Each team had a captain: Kan Lijun for Song and Dance, Zhu Shimao for Drama, and Tian Lianyuan for Comic Arts. The teams competed against each other in a tournament format, with Li Moren serving as the referee. The gala was aired on January 26, 1990, at 8:00 PM, coinciding with the eve of the Lunar New Year (according to the Chinese lunar calendar, it fell on the 30th day of the 12th lunar month in the year of the Gengshen Snake).
