On October 1, 1958, the People's Republic of China celebrated its ninth anniversary with a grand military parade in Tiananmen Square, Beijing. Party and state leaders, including Mao Zedong, Liu Shaoqi, and Zhou Enlai, inspected the troops alongside representatives from Bulgaria, Albania, and other nations. This was the tenth national day parade since the founding of New China, with over 600,000 residents participating and more than 10,000 foreign dignitaries and representatives in attendance.
