When Herman narrowly survives a heart attack, his daughter and granddaughter are greatly worried. They take him in for a few nights, just to keep an eye on him. Herman, comforted by his motto "everyone dies someday", fails to understand their fear. However, his 10-year-old granddaughter convinces him to rehearse his own funeral. That way, his real funeral will not be her very first. This forces Herman to confront reality head-on, for the comfort of his motto may not be all that true after all.
