Franklin James Schaffner (30 mai 1920 - 2 juillet 1989) était un réalisateur américain. Il a remporté l'Oscar du meilleur réalisateur pour Patton (1970) et est également connu pour les films Planet of the Apes (1968), Nicholas and Alexandra (1971), Papillon (1973) et The Boys from Brazil (1978). Il a été président de la Directors Guild of America entre 1987 et 1989.
