**Synopsis:**
This contemporary documentary profiles the unique, talented, and often controversial world-renowned conductor of the Czech Philharmonic. It's also a portrait of a human journey towards freedom in the complex terrain of the late 20th and early 21st centuries. Semjon Byčkov experienced the Iron Curtain between East and West firsthand, having broken through it as a young man when he emigrated from Leningrad to Vienna in the mid-1970s.
