Young social worker Dana Brožová navigates various challenges to find a positive connection with her demanding job. Fresh out of school, she joins the child protection department, encountering a mother whose infant always has fractures and bruises, a woman seeking divorce due to domestic abuse, and assisting in a child removal case. Her colleague advises her, but Dana must find her own way. Initially struggling, she returns to work, determined to succeed, much to her boyfriend Kamil's displeasure. Dana tackles cases involving apprentices, notably Radka, who faces bullying and other issues outside of school. She also deals with a court case involving a mother who abused her infant, dubbed the "vulture mother." Dana faces an aggressive parent, resulting in an injured hand, and must seek medical attention to resolve the case.
