(ENGLISH) *Project Hail Mary* is a good film: an ambitious, entertaining and very well-directed space adventure built around science, humour, danger and a mission on which humanity’s survival depends. I enjoyed it, although for much of the film I had a strange feeling that, without knowing exactly where, I had already seen this story before. Ryland Grace wakes up alone on a spacecraft with no memory of who he is or why he is there. Gradually, he reconstructs his identity and discovers that he has been sent into space to find a solution to a threat capable of destroying life on Earth. The film turns his returning memory into an investigation, combining the present mission with fragments explaining how he arrived there. The scientific material works well. Not because everything is easy to understand, but because the screenplay makes experiments, calculations and mistakes part of the adventure. Grace does not solve problems through magical inspiration. He tests ideas, fails, thinks again and uses knowledge as his main tool. Ryan Gosling carries a film in which he spends a long time alone. He has charisma, humour and the ability to make scientific situations understandable without sounding like a teacher. Grace is not the perfect hero one might expect to lead such a mission, and that imperfection eventually becomes important. The story improves when he discovers that he is not the only being trying to save his world. The encounter with Rocky brings curiosity, comedy and a friendship that becomes the film’s true emotional centre. They come from completely different places but share the same problem and must learn to communicate before they can help one another. Rocky is extremely well created. His appearance, movement and way of interacting with Grace make him believable as a creature and likeable as a character. The film finds genuine emotion in the cooperation between two beings who cannot even speak to each other at first. That is also where my main problem appears. The lonely astronaut, the encounter with alien intelligence and the relationship that develops between them all felt very familiar. I cannot identify one specific film, but I constantly had the impression of watching a story I already knew, now presented with a more scientific and optimistic approach. That does not mean it is badly told. Lord and Miller direct with pace, clarity and a strong sense of spectacle. The spacecraft, laboratories and physical problems are convincingly presented, and the film communicates the immensity of space without losing sight of its characters. It also combines tones effectively. It can move from scientific explanation to comedy and then into danger or emotion without falling apart. At times it pushes its optimism and friendliness too hard, but its lighter approach usually works in its favour. The running time is noticeable. There are enough discoveries, complications and solutions to maintain interest, although several sections could have been shorter. The film wants to explain every stage of the process, and this occasionally slows the journey more than necessary. Its strongest idea is its belief in knowledge and cooperation. Salvation does not depend on a warrior, but on someone capable of observing, learning and working with a completely different being. Faced with a shared threat, the film rejects the idea that one species possesses every answer. *Project Hail Mary* did not feel as original as it promised, but it is still a very good science-fiction film. It is carefully made, has a charismatic lead, a memorable alien and a story that combines adventure, science and emotion with considerable skill. I may have seen something similar before. Even so, I thoroughly enjoyed the journey.

Osea, absurdo.
