Lejos de Pekín

María and Daniel, both over 40, have been married for 8 years and have yet to fulfill their dream of becoming parents. They have completed the adoption procedures and travel to a city in northern Argentina to continue the process. Upon arrival, a social worker accompanies them to begin the bonding period. However, things do not unfold as they had hoped in this long-awaited and much-desired encounter.
