In a remote village in the Ural Mountains, two prominent families, the Skolchins and the Ermakovs, lived side by side for many years, divided only by a river. After the revolution, they found themselves on opposing sides, unable to reconcile their differences. However, their children fell in love, and the fates of the descendants of these two families became intertwined in a complex web.
