Successful St. Petersburg ad man Maxim Tretyakov, returning home from a corporate party, is involved in a car accident that results in the death of a gypsy woman, Rona. Maxim is charged with involuntary manslaughter, but his high-priced lawyer wins the case. Upon exiting the courthouse, Maxim encounters Rona's husband, who reveals that she was no ordinary fortune teller, but a fairy who saved human lives. Now, as penance for his crime, Maxim must take her place, or else those close to him will perish...
