**This documentary focuses on the first major phase of the shared life of Jiří Voskovec and Jan Werich, from their meeting until the start of the 1930s. The next part of the series covers the 1930s up to their exile. However, the creators aimed not just to chronicle the history of the Liberated Theatre of their era. They explored the relationship between the two men, their thought processes, and their stance in key situations. Above all, they delved into their creative output during the pre-Munich Republic. The gentlemen will tell us about themselves almost exclusively, without intermediaries, through their work, notably films, and quotes from post-war interviews. Jan Werich spoke with his daughter Jana at Czechoslovak Radio, while Jiří Voskovec conversed with writer Michal Schönberg in America. These interviews will be heard for the very first time. Throughout, the music of Jaroslav Ježek will be present.**
