The Empire

The story centers on Menzo Salverda, now an adult, who has fallen on hard times and only has a luxurious sports car left. After spending time in Brazil, he returns to exact revenge on the man responsible for his downfall, the ruthless record producer Bart Vreeman. Vreeman had taken Menzo's youth by exploiting him for performances and recordings, and his actions also drove his children away and pushed his wife to alcoholism due to his multiple affairs. In the season one finale, Vreeman, who had many enemies, is coldly shot to death.
