Before taking on his role as an instructor at the police academy, Kazama Kimichika (Kimura Takuya) oversaw the training of rookie detectives. Through a training system known as the Kazama Dojo, inexperienced young detectives (Akaso Eiji, Aragaki Yui, Kitamura Takumi, Shiraishi Mai, Sometani Shota) were suddenly paired with Kazama to learn detective skills by investigating real-life murder cases. Crime scenes became their classroom for on-the-job training. Kazama sees the truth faster than anyone else. By encouraging junior detectives to think independently, they reach their conclusions and graduate from the Kazama Dojo one by one. It becomes clear how Kazama became such a relentless person.
