**1968, Southern Crimea. An "ideal murder" occurs at a sanatorium for the party elite. A small group sets off on a boat to a quiet cove for a picnic. A high-ranking Communist Party official, his wife, his assistant, a young Moscow couple, and a famous writer from the capital. They enjoy life, chat, drink, and suddenly collapse on the sand, poisoned. One woman dies. No signs of foul play—anyone could have died. No clear target either.
