Nao isn't a deceitful or charming girl. Despite many telling her she's "too honest for her own good," she believes it's best to be so, hoping some good will come of it. Upon returning home after turning in a 100-yen coin at the police station, she finds a black box and an invitation at her doorstep. Inside the box are roughly 100 million yen, part of a game called "Liar Game Tournament." The rules are simple: (1) Return the money to the game organizer within 30 days of starting. (2) Any actions taken to steal money from other players won't be considered a crime. (3) If you're robbed, you're responsible and must pay the full amount... Naively, Nao seeks help from the wrong person and is tricked. Shinichi, a con artist known as "genius," just out of prison, is Nao's only hope to retrieve her money.
