When Ben van Rooyen purchases a kris at an Amsterdam antiques auction, he suspects it to be a rare and sacred Matamaram Kris with mysterious powers. After this is confirmed by a professor from the Tropical Institute, Ben and his younger brother travel to Indonesia to return it to its rightful family - unaware that others are also willing to do anything to claim the coveted blade.
