Kate & Koji

Kate Abbott, a prickly, somewhat prejudiced cafe owner, becomes increasingly frustrated with African refugee Koji. However, when she discovers his true circumstances, she hatches a mutually beneficial plan.

With their undercover clinic in full swing, the last thing Kate and Koji need is a visit from Dr Radwan. Medium keeps Koji calm.

Despite Kate being sued after an accident in the cafe, she refuses to back down and Koji is reluctant to get involved.

When word reaches that a storm is headed for town, Kate refuses to step in line, much to Lavinia's grief. Koji discovers he’s been given a jacket with an unfortunate history and Medium may have lost Kate a lot of money on the horses.

When Kate’s flashy ex-husband Dennis returns with his much younger wife in tow, Kate feigns an attachment to Koji. Lavinia is sure their relationship is a front, but that doesn’t stop a good old-fashioned showdown at the pub.

Not for the first time, Kate is being sued, but this time by Lavinia. Koji discovers he's under investigation for working illegally, and things do not improve when he tells Kate what he thinks about her grandson.

Kate and Medium have been nominated for a 'Lockdown Legend' award, for their work during lockdown by giving meals to people who were shielding. Medium is very excited, but Kate is less so when she learns that Lavinia is presenting it to…

Kate injures her ankle, so she lets Koji run the cafe, which he does all too well. Meanwhile, Medium wants feedback on the novel he's written.

Koji has an unpleasant experience which Kate tries to put right, with the aid of a World War Two gun.

Despite his disastrous record, Koji decides to take a chance on romance and Kate decides she's going to help him. What could possibly go wrong?

When her lifelong enemy suddenly decides to make amends, Kate thinks she smells a rat. Meanwhile, Koji develops a curious symptom.

Kate ignores her friends' advice and stands against Councillor Bone as the local police and crime commissioner. Medium is set to leave for a job abroad, while Koji's appeal is going badly and it looks as if Kate may be left alone.
