Late 1980s. Galya and Aleksey, a married couple, and their adult daughter Masha maintain their daily routines: they finally acquire a Czech set, ponder Masha's future, and each pursue personal interests. However, their lives take a dramatic turn when Aleksey becomes involved with Tanya, a graduate student. Aleksey's affair disrupts Galya's peaceful existence, and matters escalate when Masha announces her pregnancy.
