Dona Santa

Dona Santa, a middle-aged Italian descendant living in São Paulo's Bixiga neighborhood, faces confusion and adventure after losing her husband. Forced to drive a taxi, her red beetle, to make ends meet, she relies on the support of Father Ferdenuto, a friend and advisor. At home, she must deal with her idle, good-for-nothing son-in-law Silvio, who claims to want a political career and awaits elections. Dileta, her daughter, is deeply in love with Silvio and always defends him.
