In the small Estonian village of Pahuküla, where a murder mystery unfolds, lives a tragic young woman named Leena. Dreaming of a career in the big city, she finds herself ensnared by fate in her rural hometown, a typical Estonian backwater, suddenly at the heart of a murder plot. Despite the skepticism of the local inspector and a detective sent from the city, Leena takes it upon herself to solve the mystery. With the help of the cunning Helju, the bumbling Ossi, and the clever schoolboy Pauli, she sets out to uncover who's behind the crimes, what secrets the villagers hide, and how it all connects to a bloody incident that occurred in Pahuküla 50 years ago.
