Krai, from a family of soldiers, has spent most of his life fighting in battles and wars for his country. Dao, the youngest daughter of a prominent village chief, is curious and fortunate, with a happy disposition. Krai's older brother marries Dao's older sister, solidifying the bond between the two families. Krai meets Dao as a child and spends much time caring for her, buying her toys and taking her around the village. Krai and his older brother are called to defend the border, and he promises Dao he will return to protect her as an older brother. Years later, Krai returns to find Dao has grown into a beautiful young woman, and the affection they've held for each other for years blossoms into true love.
