地火

Original title

地火 follows Communist intelligence operative Lao Kang, who is returning from the Soviet Union disguised as a merchant when betrayal leaves him imprisoned by the Japanese army with several fellow travelers. Inside the prison, three infiltrators pursue opposed assignments: the Japanese seek to identify him, the Nationalists to assassinate him, and the Communists to rescue him, while the Military, Mountain and Green Gang factions are pulled between them. Outside the walls, Communist and Nationalist operatives cooperate to eliminate the traitor, while inside Communist Li Zhongming joins Nationalist Shang Qingcheng to help Lao Kang escape by rallying the prison blocs.
