"In Lund, Sweden, during the 1940s and 1950s, controversial experiments were conducted at Vipeholm Institution. Mentally and physically disabled patients were force-fed excessive amounts of a highly sugary caramel to study its impact on dental health. This research, while groundbreaking, came at a great cost to the vulnerable participants, as tooth decay was a significant issue in Sweden at the time."
