Jerry, a smooth-talking womanizer, and his timid friend Pat find themselves in a tight spot: their clients are living longer than expected. They make a living by purchasing life insurance policies from the terminally ill and gambling on their timely demise. However, their fortunes take a turn when they encounter Barbara, who has a $2 million policy and only three months to live.
