After the death of General Darby, owner of the Sangaree lands, Dr. Carlos Morales is appointed administrator of the Darby family's estate. Despite the support of the Darby's eldest son, Morales faces resistance from the rest of the family, who will stop at nothing to regain control of Sangaree. Based on a novel by Frank Slaughter and set in 1780, this film adaptation excels in its period-accurate sets, costumes, and action. Surrounded by actresses known for B-movies, Fernando Lamas, the Latin heartthrob, takes the lead. Originally shot in 3-D, this was the first Technicolor 3-D film, directed by Hollywood veteran Edward Ludwig.
