Long ago, Japan was crisscrossed by numerous fleets. The Murakami Navy, deemed the most powerful, had even defeated Nobunaga and declined to join Hideyoshi, preferring to cherish its freedom and love for the sea. The sea samurai who commanded this fleet was the great pirate lord Takeyoshi Murakami. Today, Kaede Murakami, a 12-year-old girl, lives on an island. On her birthday, she discovers in her family's attic an heirloom flute passed down through the generations. This flute is the key to finding the hidden treasure of the Murakami Navy. This adventure tale tells the story of an ancient pirate and his descendant who connect across time, uniting the island.
