In order for science fiction to be interesting, it has to have either interesting science in it, as in the premise has to be intriguing, or the characters around that premise have to be intriguing. At least one of the two have to be in place for the movie to actually be any good. The premise of this movie is completely squandered by an incredibly obvious twist, and it ruins the entire affair. It is sad and worn, and the Planet of the Apes did it so much better. The characters are not interesting. They are acting in a way that makes you come out of the drama and you have to stop and think about why the character would do a certain thing. They don't make sense, which makes them less engaging. With the twist being this obvious and the characters being this boring, there is no tension to this movie. And while it is pretty and obviously cost a deal of money to make, it just isn't any good. You should probably just avoid this unless you're just looking at the pretty lights.
