Aleksandar, known as Saša, a writer, is supposed to take his determined, dementia-stricken grandmother Kristina to a care home. However, Kristina is convinced they should embark on a journey together to their ancestral village of Oskoruša. Unable to disappoint her, Saša agrees, and an unplanned road trip begins. As they travel, the story of Saša's family fleeing Višegrad for Germany during the Bosnian War, and his new life in Heidelberg, intertwines with Kristina's return to her homeland. This becomes a bittersweet tale of the present and past, memory and forgetting, the impossibility of belonging, and the first, crucial twist of fate in our lives - our origins.
