Nim's Island

Nim Rusoe enjoys a peaceful life on a secluded island with her father, Jack. She spends her days playing with her animal friends and getting lost in books, particularly those by her hero, Alex Rover. When Jack sets off on an expedition to a nearby atoll, expecting to return in two days, a sudden wave damages his boat, leaving him stranded. Meanwhile, Nim receives an email from Alex Rover, unaware that her idol is actually a woman. Thrilled, Nim responds, and Alex, needing information about the island's volcano for her new book, must confront her biggest fear: should she overcome her agoraphobia to help a young girl stranded on a remote island?
