Ignacio, nicknamed "Nacho," is an overweight wrestler with a tag team partner. His mother was a missionary in Scandinavia and his father, a deacon in Mexico. They both passed away when Ignacio was still a child. Raised as an orphan in a Mexican monastery, Ignacio became the orphanage's cook. He dreamed of becoming a wrestler, but the monastery's ban on the sport prevented him. With food scarce at the orphanage, Nacho had an idea to raise money for the orphans: participate in professional fights, but he must be cautious around Sister Encarnación (Ana de la Reguera), with whom he shares many similarities. Finally, Ignacio decides to pursue his dream of becoming a wrestler.

Not as fun as I expected it to be.
<em>'Nacho Libre'</em> does do some things well, Jack Black is good and the wrestling scenes are mostly nicely done. However, I didn't really dig the rest of it - whether it be the laughter lacking humour, or the uninteresting story with the orphanage. It is at least a relatively short flick, but it isn't one I'd be in a rush to rewatch.
