Julia runs a bar in a Madrid neighborhood frequented daily by a motley crew of marginal characters. Poverty, unemployment, alcohol, and heartbreak are their daily fare. But one day, they decide to pool their resources and bet on a better future: they'll place a bet together, following the instructions of Juan, a sort of seer who always gets it right, despite never having placed a bet himself. As Sunday arrives, they eagerly await the moment to learn the results.
