In the wake of Britain's original rave culture in the late 80s and early 90s, which was pushed underground by strict laws and superclubs, a new underground scene has emerged in the 21st century. Clive Martin delves into this contemporary rave scene, where young people illegally access abandoned spaces, using tools like bolt-cutters and navigating complex squatting laws, to host late-night parties fueled by nitrous oxide. However, as police employ harsher methods to suppress these gatherings and high-profile incidents, including fatalities, spark national outcry, the scene's survival hangs in the balance.
