Saturnino del Olmo is the jack-of-all-trades in his village. He handles everything from administering injections to fixing the church bell, working tirelessly from dawn till dusk. This relentless schedule has completely suppressed his sexual appetite, a fact well-known throughout the village. Naturally, by bedtime each night, all Saturnino craves is sleep, much to the dismay of his wife Elvira, who desperately tries various tactics to reignite his interest. One day, Saturnino is tasked with traveling to Madrid to purchase a bull, and with this mission comes a two-week break in the city, which he can spend as he pleases. Upon arriving at his apartment, Saturnino's first action is to retire to bed for some much-needed sleep. However, a series of events draws him out of bed and into the Miss Spain '74 beauty pageant.
