An elderly WWII veteran, living with his son's family, becomes increasingly absorbed in memories of the war. One day, he sets off on a sudden, unexplained journey after reading something in a magazine. His son sets out to find him, ultimately gaining a deeper understanding of his father and the WWII generation.
