Twelve years after, Christos Myrisiotis lives with his mother Eleni on a remote Aegean island. This boy has been doubly marked by fate: he has an exceptional musical talent, but is also destined to lose his sight due to a rare disease. Now, a solitary eccentric, Christos finds solace in nature and in the dreamlike world of a cave where his acute hearing allows him to collect natural sounds that he later transforms into musical compositions for his violin. His only friends are his classmate Angeliki and the elderly lighthouse keeper Soursoumis, who teaches him not only how to play the violin, but also about life in general. Everything changes when the new teacher, Maria, arrives on the island. She becomes greatly interested in Christos' exceptional abilities, although he remains indifferent to school. Without his consent, Maria ensures his participation in a music competition. Christos' traumatic family and personal experiences lead him to mature as an artist.
