Avery Bullard, CEO of Tredway Corporation, a renowned furniture manufacturer, passes away unexpectedly. With no clear successor named, the 7-member executive board must swiftly convene to appoint a new leader. As Avery's death occurs on a Friday afternoon, it's crucial to have a new president in place by Monday to prevent a dip in the company's stock value. Loren Phineas Shaw (Fredric Marsh), a profit-driven businessman with little regard for quality, is the likely successor. To prevent Shaw's ascension, a board member with innovative ideas must be found quickly. However, the board is divided, and Shaw only needs four more votes to secure the presidency.
