In the bustling city of Kolkata, "Arshinagar," a modern Bengali musical drama directed by Aparna Sen, retells the timeless tale of Romeo and Juliet. Amidst political unrest and class divisions, Arjun, a passionate young man from a wealthy and influential family, falls deeply in love with Shohini, a determined girl from a humble working-class background. Their love, however, is complicated by the long-standing feud between their families, who stand on opposite sides of the city's political landscape. As Arjun and Shohini struggle to maintain their relationship amidst the surrounding chaos and violence, they must also contend with the expectations and disapproval of their families. Will their love triumph over the deep-seated enmity between their families, or will they too fall victim to the city's constant conflict?
