Peking In Flames

In 1937, old Beijing city witnessed an extraordinary year. After years of turmoil and chaos, the Qing Dynasty, which had ruled China for centuries, collapsed under the onslaught of foreign powers and calls for democracy. Amidst this upheaval, Japan prepared to invade. Wen San (Liu Peiqi), a humble Beijing resident, had grown up without parents and had previously been a beggar and a rickshaw puller. With no grand aspirations, he contented himself with a drink and idle chatter with friends. However, in these tumultuous times, he found himself drawn into the whirlwind of events. Over the next 20 years, Wen San's life intertwined with people from all walks of life, each carving their own legend in the ancient capital.
