In the cosmetics industry, Taiwan's leading local company is "Baojia Beauty," which appears thriving but is secretly grappling with declining sales. The aging chairman, Hong Zhihong, had groomed his only son, Hong Jianliang, to take over the business, but their differing views on the company's future often lead to disagreements. Despite this, Jianliang deeply respects his father and doesn't intentionally defy him; he simply cannot stomach the cutthroat tactics prevalent in the business world. He wonders why everyone preaches "harmony is profitable" yet resorts to ruthless competition, and why they can't adopt a more forgiving approach. However, Jianliang's indecisiveness worries Hong Zhihong, who arranges for the ambitious chief makeup artist, Xie Shaofen, to date Jianliang, hoping she can help him manage Baojia.
